Normal is broken.
Another year of the same routines won't bring different results.
Sounds simple to fix. But it’s hard to do.
I used to think I was doing it differently. Business, health, travel, education.
I chased fulfilment by cramming life with things that made me feel unique, but true fulfilment comes from embodying these values in every moment, not just fragments of it.
That's the important difference.
And it can’t be achieved by doing what 99% of people do.
So don’t be normal.
Normal is broken.
This is the mantra of one of my mentors Jesse Itzler.
I like it because it speaks to being a rebel. An outlier.
It’s a super easy anchor to use in life: find yourself doing what is deemed ‘normal’, you’ll get the same results as everyone else.
So don't.
We need reminding of this every day. So I use terms like this in Sovereign Soul Network.
Do Life Differently.
Easy Choices: Hard Life Hard Choices: Easy Life
Be more, have more, do more, give more.
These phrases act as a daily reminder to be the 1% not the 99%.
The way we live our days is the way we live our lives.
Find your abnormal. Be an anomaly.
And don’t worry when people find you kooky. Weird. That’s their fear reflected back at you, not because of you.
But what are you actually doing that’s different from 99% of other people? That makes people look at you and go ‘huh?’
Audit the life you have and the life you want to live to find ‘the gap’
Create ‘buckets’ within a structure and fill them
Create a plan to add/remove and turn into a reality
Measure and close ‘the gap’, every month for 12 months
Do it with the 1% weirdos.
Simple right?
If you don’t have the buckets and you don't have the structure you won’t have a plan and might struggle to find, measure and fill the gap.
There’s a million different ways of doing it. Your inbox will probably be full of them right now. This is just ours.
It’s what I used to build Life 2.0 for me and my family to travel, school, build and then settle in a country 8000 miles away from the UK. It's what Daniel and his partner used to digital nomad their way into travelling and living with the communities that light them up.
People called us weird. Not normal. But those same people seem to be interested in understanding how we did it.
So we’re running a workshop to share the plan. It’s called Thrive / N25.
Want to get (not) normal?
It's happening:
SYDNEY: 8AM 1st February
LONDON: 9PM 31st January
NEW YORK: 4PM 31st January
See you there with the weird ones.
